I get this question often, especially from new photographers. It can be so overwhelming when you first start your business trying to keep track of all the things you should have to help grow your business. And if I’m being honest, having a website should be a main priority. Your website is the first piece of work your potential clients get to see. They get to know who you are and what it is you specialize in. In today’s episode I am sharing with you my top 4 reasons why you should have a website when starting out or even when you’re established as a photographer!
#1: marketing- aside from having a pretty curated website photographers should be using it to market themselves for their niche and location. Adding their website to their social media platforms, Google my business, and optimize it to favor Google searches! All these tips will help you bring in more potential clients who hopefully will turn into paying clients and bookings. If you are wanting to grow your business, definitely focus on this.
#2: displaying your work – your website is the perfect place to display your work in one place. Once a potential client lands on your website weather it becomes organically, directly, or from social media. They are able to see the different galleries you offer, your editing style, and the niche that your specialize in.
#3 contact form: your contact form is how you will get inquires from these potential clients that are landing on your website. I highly suggest connecting your crm contact form to the contact page of your website. That way your workflow will be so much easier
#4. About me: your potential clients want to know who they are inquiring and booking with. They want to relate to you. They will get to know who they are potentially booking with. That way going into the session and even a discovery call they already seem familiar to you.
I hope this blog has helped you move forward with deciding if you should have a website for your photography business or not. And also if you have a photography website already make sure you’re hitting these key points in your website to better serve your potential clients.
