Have you ever ventured the idea of hiring a birth photographer?
For the past two years, I have had the honor of photographing over fifteen births. And every time I ask my clients why having a birth photographer is so important to them. They tell me these three things.
- I want to have it captured to share with my loved ones back home. Being a military spouse, most of my clients are also the same as me. Military wives, miles and miles away from their family. Having this moment captured to share with all their family back home is very important to them.
- I am worried that it will all be a blur. Most of my clients express this concern. I am worried that I will not remember the painful hours of labor. Welcoming my baby into the world. I am worried that it will all be a blur. I can definitely understand that. Because even being the photographer some births are so in the moment. When I come home and revisit the images I just took. I am always left with no words. It can all become extremely overwhelming so getting those first moments of you meeting your baby is an absolute must.
- To capture the first moments. Those first two hours after labor are the absolute sweetest. From the first hour of skin to skin to the first latch. These are the moments you want to be captured to look back on for years to come.
